Why Lumen?

As our rooflights are manufactured in Great Britain, we have the ability to monitor our quality control process very closely to ensure that every rooflight we supply meets not only our own exacting standards but also that of ISO9001:2008. In addition we are able to introduce new ideas quickly and manufacture bespoke items in as little as 6 weeks.

We strongly believe that manufacturing Lumen rooflights in Great Britain not only keeps our carbon footprint to a minimum but is also the best way to provide our customers with the products they deserve. You can be sure that we will not compromise quality by cutting corners.

What is the CE Marking?

CE marking is a manufacturer's declaration that an individual product conforms to the stated European harmonised standard(s) as directed under specific mandates from the EU, prepared by the European Standardisation Committee (CEN). CE marking is not a quality mark nor does it imply conformity with national building regulations/codes or offer any additional guarantees.

The definitions used are varied and some products do not fall into the standards and therefore do not require the mandatory CE marking. Due to their application rooflights/skylights are considered as roof windows because these have the same characteristics as windows installed in walls with regard to function, cleaning, maintenance and durability. These are therefore considered roof windows according to the definition with EN 12519:2004.

Our Lumen Planus flat rooflight product is designed as an out of plane rooflight which needs to sit on the builders pre-formed up stand section. Therefore the scope of this standard does not cover our Lumen Planus product. We therefore do not apply a CE mark to the Lumen Planus range.
